「忍」字，乃心上一把刀，沒有「心」，「刀」下空了，那有什麼忍？凡夫有「心」，所以有「忍」，等到忍無可忍，爆發了，就一發不可收拾。故要了知心是虛妄、無常的，唯有無心及斷習氣，才是真正無忍可忍。
　　In Chinese character of “endure”, it is composed of a blade on the top of a heart. Therefore, if there is no heart, the blade has no object to cut and there would be nothing to endure. Ordinary people have a heart, so there is always something unpleasant to endure, and when it is beyond endurance it will be a situation that has escaped their ability to control. Therefore, we must understand the mind is illusory and impermanent, only if we reach the state of ‘no mind’ and cut off our habitual habits, we will really have nothing to endure.
