菩薩見畜生時，要為畜生授三皈依及念佛迴向，實際上這也是在度化自己內在的畜生習氣。
When a bodhisattva sees any animal, they should perform a ceremony for it, on its behalf, by turning for refuge in the Three Treasures, reciting the Buddha’s name, and devoting merit to its salvation. By doing this, they can remove and transform their own animal-like habitual thoughts or behaviors.
